Welcome to Maggie’s Mending Service. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website www.maggiesmendingservice.co.nz (the "Site") and the mending and repair services provided by Maggie Meiklejohn ("we," "us," or "our").
By requesting a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Services & The Nature of Mending
Maggie’s Mending Service provides garment repairs and creative textile mending.

Creative Endeavour: You acknowledge that mending is a subjective and creative process. Our goal is to extend the life of your garment, not to return it to a "brand-new" or factory-original state.

Visible vs. Invisible: While we strive for excellence, repairs—especially "invisible" mends—may have slight variations in texture or color. We celebrate the unique character that mending adds to a piece.

Right of Refusal: We reserve the right to refuse service for items that are hazardous, excessively soiled, or structurally beyond repair.
2. Turnaround Times & Express Service

Standard Turnaround: Our standard turnaround time is 3 to 7 business days.

Delays: If a repair is complex or requires specific materials that cause a delay, we will communicate this to you as early as possible.

Express Service: If you require a "rush" repair, an Express Service Fee will apply. This must be agreed upon at the time of drop-off and is subject to current capacity.
3. Pricing & Payment

Currency: All prices are quoted and charged in New Zealand Dollars (NZD).

Quotes: Estimates provided via the Site are preliminary. A final price will be confirmed upon physical inspection of the item.

Payment: Payment is required in full upon completion. Items will be released once payment has been received.

Uncollected Items: Items not collected or paid for within 90 days of the completion notification may be donated to charity to recover costs.
4. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure the best result and the safety of our equipment, please:

Ensure all items are freshly laundered and dry before drop-off. A cleaning fee may apply to unhygienic items.

Clearly communicate the specific areas requiring repair.

Empty all pockets; we are not responsible for personal belongings left inside garments.
5. Satisfaction & Refund Policy

Change of Mind: As these are bespoke manual services, refunds will not be given for a change of mind once work has commenced or been completed.

Our Commitment: If you are unhappy with the work, please let us know immediately. We value our community and will do our absolute best to come up with a fair solution or adjustment to ensure you are satisfied with the result.
6. Liability

Consumer Guarantees Act: Our services are provided in accordance with the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

Limit of Liability: In the rare event of accidental damage during the mending process, our liability is limited to the current market value of the garment (considering age/condition) or the cost of the repair service, whichever is lower.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
